Post-repair concerns

A previous repair may leave symptoms, questions or incomplete records.
The solution we provide
We help investigate the specific symptoms or questions left after previous work. An agreed assessment can compare available records, current findings and applicable procedures, with limitations and unresolved questions recorded.
Discuss this service directly
You can ask about this service by phone, text or email without entering the screening funnel. If you want us to consider a job, a guided request is also available. Paid assessment and repair work require agreed scope and authorization.
What we need to establish
Tell us what feels wrong and provide available prior records. We discuss an independent assessment, its limits and charges before investigating.
Concerned about a repair completed elsewhere?
A returning symptom, warning light, unusual noise, poor fit or unexpected handling deserves investigation. It does not by itself prove that the previous shop performed an incorrect repair. Our role is to assess the vehicle within an agreed scope, document what we find and explain corrective work we can support.
Practical steps to protect your safety and clarify the problem
- Address possible unsafe operation first. If braking, steering, vehicle control or another serious safety concern is present, arrange appropriate assistance or transport. Do not keep driving or perform risky tests to prove the symptom.
- Preserve what you already have. Keep estimates, invoices, authorizations, warranty information, messages, photos and any scan, measurement or calibration reports. Note when the concern started, the mileage and the conditions under which it occurs. Record observations accurately without assuming their cause.
- Notify the original shop. Describe the concern and ask what its review or warranty process requires. Discuss access, timing and any proposed charges. Review applicable warranty terms before commissioning unrelated disassembly or corrective work; if evidence or a dispute is involved, seek appropriate professional advice before changes are made.
- Agree on an independent assessment. We identify the inspection or testing needed, charges and limits before you authorize it. If disassembly is needed, discuss photographs, removed-part retention, reassembly and storage before work begins. Existing damage or prior modifications may limit what can be established.
- Review documented findings and corrective options. We distinguish observations, supported technical findings and unresolved questions. Discuss whether to return to the original shop, request another assessment or authorize a defined corrective repair. With your permission, we can provide our technical findings to the relevant shop or claim contact.
- Confirm payment and next steps. Agree who will pay for assessment, transport and corrective work before commissioning it. A reimbursement request or warranty discussion is not confirmation that someone else will pay our invoice. Corrective work requires separate authorization.
Work toward a documented corrective outcome
The goal is to identify the concern, establish an appropriate repair plan and verify the authorized corrective work. We document the assessment and explain what remains unresolved. We cannot promise that every issue will be found, that the vehicle will return to its exact pre-incident condition, or that another party will reimburse all costs or other losses.
Consumer information and help with a dispute
If discussion with the original shop does not resolve the concern, the Minnesota Attorney General’s repair information (new tab) explains consumer resources. For an insurance-handling concern, see the Minnesota Department of Commerce (new tab). A licensed attorney can advise on rights, evidence preservation, deadlines and potential remedies; an appropriately licensed insurance professional can address services within their licensed scope.
CR1stop does not determine legal fault, interpret your coverage, represent you in settlement negotiations or guarantee that you will be “made whole.” We provide vehicle assessment and repair documentation, explain our own charges and perform the work you authorize within a scope we can responsibly support.
